Marilyn Rippetoe graduated with a Master’s Degree in Social Work, with a concentration in Clinical work with Families and Children, from the University of Maryland in Baltimore, MD in 2006. She is a licensed social worker in both Maryland and Washington, DC. Marilyn is currently working with Gunzburg & Associates as a Counselor at The Nora School in Silver Spring, MD. She has also worked in other school settings, including in Montgomery County Public Schools, doing individual counseling, group work, and workshops with middle school and high school students.
In addition to work in schools, Marilyn has worked in Senior Services with aging clients and their families; in Child Welfare, Foster Care, and Adoptions; and in Eating Disorder treatment. She has a diverse field of experience from infants to seniors, retirement communities to schools, and hospitals to private homes.
Marilyn earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing at Geneva College in Pittsburgh, PA. She worked for eight years in non-profit fundraising and events planning, before deciding to pursue a full-time career in Social Work. She has a real passion for working with students of any age and helping to support school staff in encouraging students’ success in all areas of their lives.
Marilyn was born and raised in Silver Spring, MD, where she continues to live with her husband and son.
