Lauren Fliegel is a licensed clinical social worker, who has been providing counseling services to children, adolescents and young adults for over 10 years. Lauren’s warmth and genuine interest in helping others provides clients with a safe environment to work on difficult issues. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park, and her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, with a clinical concentration in Mental Health. She received advanced training in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy through the University of Maryland, School of Medicine.
Lauren specializes in working with individuals and families affected by depression, anxiety, trauma, divorce, and grief and loss. She has worked in a variety of settings including public and independent schools, outpatient mental health clinics, and was the first senior mental health clinician in Montgomery County’s first high school wellness center. Lauren has experience running groups for adolescents focused on social skills, healthy relationships, trauma, and loss. She has provided clinical supervision to social work and psychology doctoral students working with children and adolescents. Lauren lives with her family in Rockville, Maryland.
